Click Here to read letter to Abilene voters Dear Friends and Supporters, With a great sense of pride and humility, I am pleased to announce that I have received overwhelming encouragement from my friends and supporters to file for re-election to a second full term on the Abilene City Council. Two of my mentors, Dr. Jack Ramsey and Coach Wally Bullington have agreed to serve again as my campaign Treasurers and many of those who signed on to endorse my campaign three years ago have already agreed to be one of my Sam’s Supporters again for this re-election effort. I hope I have earned your continued support and vote and have proven to you my energy and enthusiasm for making Abilene the best place in Texas to live, work, and visit with a quality of life full of economic opportunity for our children, our grandchildren and senior citizens. I feel a responsibility to you, to my family and to Abilene, Texas, and I promise to continue giving you my best effort if you will help give me this opportunity to continue serving as your Councilman. Abilene has prospered during my time as part of our current City Council team. We are experiencing growth and development on Interstate 20, plus new business opportunities and higher paying jobs in our Pine Street Corridor and Industrial Park, thanks in part to DCOA assisted Wind Energy and Texas Tech related expansion. We’ve enhanced our university educational alliances, continue to improve our parks, Zoo and airport facilities, restructured our Code Enforcement and neighborhood support programs, upgraded our streets and sidewalks, added a new north side library and begun a downtown infill development master plan. We are currently developing water permits and resources to ensure our future such as Cedar Ridge Reservoir and Lake Ft. Phantom Hill, along with studying effluent and underground water uses. All of these and more are being accomplished while remaining fiscally conservative with our award winning city budget. Please consider this an invitation to join me in this campaign. Enclosed is a card which details for you the many ways you can assist. First, I want and need your vote on May 9, 2009. Nothing happens unless you vote! Secondly, please consider publicly and financially supporting this campaign by joining my team of Sam’s Supporters. Third, please encourage your friends and acquaintances to vote for me and join the team. Your help and support is greatly appreciated. Contributions of any amount may be sent to the Sam Chase Campaign. I see this as a continued investment in the future of Abilene. I hope you do as well.
